Selaron's Steps

Escandaria Selaron's Steps can look really good, when
the right people show up, as these models and their suitcases

And I and my big camera was right in there. The girls only had smaller cameras or phones

Moments later they approached me and asked me to take a few photos with their cameras. I did, then, as they were starting to pack up, I called out to them. The happily complied (no doubt taking pity on little old me). And here they are, in their glory. People stepped out of the way to make this happen.

Up at the top there was a side spur. I was told to definitely not go there. No problem. Lots of people were there. Continuing left, at the top, on takes one to a church. I looked down that street and called the visit there, off. It did not look inviting and was quite deserted..

The surprise is this. One way, ornate and dazziling, but coming down
this is what you see, just a regular set of steps as one finds all over

A nice display, but caveat emptor. Most of what you see here is treated (for color) or not what it seems, and much comes from China

Tiles from all over the world, but attached to the front only and therefore invisible when you go downstairs.

I assume that he finished them in 2010 and then killed himself at the bottom, looking up at his creation

He really looked everywhere for unique tiles

Lest we forget the 2014 World Cup - here an artful reminder

And then, with plenty of daylight left, I walked back to find a Metro station, attempting vainly to retrace my steps, but ended up an hour later at that second station by the small market
